Hi guys, I have been doing some work on trying to get a cheaper layer pellet available to poultry keepers. The problem as I see it is that the cost of layer pellets (the cheapest chook feed available) is about $13.50 for a 20kg bag. Once this is fed to the chooks, the cost of the feed results in the eggs being worth about $2.50 per dozen, which is the same as what you can buy eggs in the supermarket. If people want to save money through growing their own food, they need to find a cheaper feed source for their poultry. I am really excited to be in the process of developing Armidale poultry blog's own branded layer ration which I am willing to offer for just $10 per 20kg bag, which would allow poultry keepers to actually produce eggs at cheaper than what they can buy them in a store. I am hoping to have this one available sometime in November. However, in order for it to be worth me doing, I need to see if people would be interested in such a product. I would really appreciate it if you could give me your support on this one by commenting on this post, or if you would like to keep communication private, you can email me at armidalepoultryblog@gmail.com. Information like how many bags per week you use would be really helpful. I look forward to working with you to make this project a success :-)
Thanks for reading
Josh
